About the story
Nettle Noo began as a character imagined by my daughter Izzy during our woodland walks. She pictured a tiny fairy living among the trees, streams, and nettles.
Inspired by her idea, I wrote a poem that grew into a fully‑fledged children’s story, beautifully brought to life by illustrator Sarah‑Leigh Wills.
Nettle Noo Book
The book follows Nettle Noo, a young fairy without wings who believes this makes her less able to help others, until one day she meets a weary butterfly searching for a safe place to lay her eggs. Through kindness, courage, and her deep knowledge of the woodland, Noo discovers she doesn’t need wings to do wonderful things.
